Working together
Most of my work is advisory and hands-on execution with engineering and product leadership: clarifying direction, unblocking delivery, and making change stick. Engagements are built around outcomes, not slide decks.
How engagements usually run
- 1. Discovery call — We align on context, constraints, and what “good” looks like. No pitch deck; just a straight conversation.
- 2. Focused sprint or advisory — Depending on fit, we start with a short, well-scoped piece of work (e.g. assessment, roadmap, or workshop) or a monthly advisory rhythm with clear goals.
- 3. Execution support — I stay close to the work: stakeholders, engineers, and vendors—so recommendations turn into durable practice, not shelf-ware.
Typical engagement shapes
- Advisory — Regular sessions with CTO/VP/Director on leadership, org, and technical bets.
- Programme / transformation — Cloud migration, platform hardening, ISO-27001 technical track, or reliability uplift with defined milestones.
- Fractional leadership — Interim or part-time coverage when you need senior engineering leadership without a full-time hire yet.
Deliverables you can expect
Written assessments, roadmaps, architecture and operating-model proposals, workshop facilitation, vendor evaluation support, and hands-on pairing with teams—not generic templates.
Who I work best with
- Scale-ups and mid-market product companies modernising platforms or growing engineering orgs.
- Leaders who want pragmatic execution—Terraform, Kubernetes, AWS/Azure, and solid delivery practices—not buzzwords.
- Teams navigating compliance (e.g. ISO-27001) without paralysing delivery.
- Organisations in Europe or globally remote-friendly; I’m based in the Netherlands and work in English (plus Ukrainian, Russian, Dutch at working level).
Where I’m usually not the right fit
- Pure staff augmentation or long-term “extra pair of hands” without ownership for outcomes.
- Projects that need full-time on-site presence five days a week.
- Engagements without executive or engineering sponsorship—change needs air cover.
If you’re unsure, send a short note and we’ll figure it out.
Fees
I work on a day-rate or fixed-scope basis, depending on the engagement. I’ll share a clear written proposal after we’ve understood scope—no surprises on structure.
